Instructor Jorge González-Roa

Instructor Jorge González-Roa

Biography

Mexican Mexico City resident Jorge “Cometín” González-Roa has been diving since 2008. He became a diving instructor in 2015. After being invited by family to dive, Jorge became interested in—addicted to—recreational diving. In four years, he progressed from Open Water Diver (OWD) to Rescue Diver. Unwilling to resist the enticing appeal of underwater exploration, he acquired diving levels and specialties in quick succession. He was certified as an IANTD instructor in 2016 and the following year became a PADI instructor, too. Currently, Cometín is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and Tec Diver by both PADI and IANTD. Also, Jorge closely collaborates with Luis Sanchez as COO of “Rango Extendido” diving centre. He continues increasing his experience and enjoys teaching OWD courses specially. There, he is better able to share his passion and experiences—respect and awe—for our underwater planet with divers-to-be. Cometín is working on his ‘Tec 50 Diving Instructor’ and ‘Rebreather Instructor’ certifications. Eventually, he wishes to become Course Director. Jorge is fully committed to the care of the environment and the promotion of a clean, healthy, and abundant ocean planet.
